Bob Stenhouse

CEO, Veritas Solutions
In the early 2000's Bob's award winning and exemplary police investigations career came to a screeching halt. A reluctant "whistleblower" Bob's disillusion and despondency with police leader misinformation related to biker gang and organized crime investigations, and the appeal for government funding, compelled him to "blow the whistle" by providing benign media strategy documents to an author.
After self-reporting, the subsequent fundamentally flawed internal investigation, process, and decision making resulted in Bob's termination from the RCMP. Continuing to speak truth, Bob appealed his termination and told his story, making the cover story of Maclean's magazine and a CBC Fifth Estate documentary. Bob's appeal at the Federal Court of Canada was successful, resulting in his reinstatement to the RCMP.
Bob has since parlayed that experience in his later careers as a leader for twenty years in workplace and administrative investigations, where he is now the CEO and founder of one of Canada's premier third-party investigation firms, Veritas Solutions. Bob is the author of an Amazon bestselling book, Truth Matters: A Guide to Conducting Successful Workplace & Other Administrative Investigations. Bob is also HR Law Canada Workplace Investigator of the Year (Silver Distinction)

A Whistleblower's Guide to Whistleblower Cases

Whistleblower investigations, whether through a hotline or other method of communication, are one of the most challenging to investigate to a successful conclusion. The anonymous nature does not allow for the assessment of credibility or the ability to provide fulsome information for a procedurally fair response of the alleged misconduct. Further, whistleblower situations will often elicit defensiveness, and high emotion, among senior leaders whose areas of responsibility may be the subject of alleged wrongdoing.
In this session Bob will tap in to his personal lived and learned experiences as a whistleblower and whistleblower investigator, providing guidance on how to identify and avoid errors, pitfalls, biases, and procedurally flawed processes. Bob will then provide a framework and path on how to successfully conduct whistleblower investigations.
