The termination was defensible. The investigation wasn't.

When a court or arbitrator overturns a dismissal, the problem often isn't the conduct. It's the process: the wrong investigator, a vague mandate, a respondent who never saw the evidence, or a finding that doesn't support the discipline.

Fact Finders walks through the investigation lifecycle, from the complaint landing on someone's desk to discipline and the work of repairing the team afterward.

It speaks to HR practitioners running investigations, the lawyers who defend them and safety leaders responsible for harassment and violence complaints under OHS law.

You'll leave knowing

  • The investigation mistakes that most often sink an employer's case
  • When to investigate in-house and when to bring in an outside investigator
  • What procedural fairness requires in interviews, evidence and representation
  • How to match the discipline to the findings
  • How to rebuild a team after the report is delivered
